Research

The Department of Behavioral Science has achieved remarkable research successes. Faculty continue to serve as Principle Investigators on federal and state-funded research projects. These grants and contract projects highlight the department's targeted strengths in substance abuse, cancer, and aging in addition to underscoring faculty’s diverse research approaches. Examples of these projects include career development awards, basic human laboratory research, drug abuse treatment and prevention trials, community-based cancer interventions, health disparities investigations, a research training grant, violence treatment and prevention studies, community-based prevention, evaluations, and an NIH-funded research center. Information about the department's research projects can be found in the descriptions of the research facilities, affiliated centers, and in the accomplishments of faculty.
